A Multilayer Circularly Polarized Ka-Band Phased Array Module using Sequential Rotation
Collaboration between Instituto de Telecomunicações of Aveiro, University of Aveiro and Sinuta to develop a new circularly polarized 4×4 antenna array with beamforming capabilities. By using the sequential rotation technique, it was possible to achieve wide scan angles, both LHCP/RHCP, while maintaining the axial ratio (AR) below 3 dB between 27.5-30 GHz, with a maximum gain of 14 dBi.

Backscatter Communications as a new paradigm for IoT sensor wireless solutions
Collaboration between Instituto de Telecomunicações of Aveiro, University of Aveiro, Sinuta, Heriot-Watt University and Georgia Institute of Technology to address backscatter communications as a new paradigm for Internet of Things sensor wireless solutions. The paper clearly presents the history background of the technology and then makes a summary of the more recent developments form several groups around the world, with emphasis in US and Europe groups.

Collaboration between Instituto de Telecomunicações of Aveiro, University of Aveiro and Sinuta to develop a PAM backscatter modulator based on BiCMOS technology chip for Wireless Power Transmission applications. A Software Defined Radio was also used to demodulate the received modulated signals.
